Bermuda

After a week long rain in my Florida backyard, my brother and my niece and nephew traveled to Bermuda. At least the sun was shining in Bermuda and they were able to enjoy the beach. My brother sent me photos of a Kiskadee Flycatcher and a Jamaican Turquoise Anole he saw while he was there. They are both so pretty!!

Flowers in my garden

I took these photos in my garden and then changed them with my ipad Apps...fun! I used Photogene and Mobile Monet for these.

Hummingbird

This hummingbird does not share well with others! The other hummingbirds have to get a drink quick before getting chased off.

Gigantic Butterfly!

I have never seen a butterfly this big before!

Baby Cardinal

This cutie was trying to escape from the garage today. I put on a glove and helped. He stuck around afterward just long enough for me to go get my camera and take a couple of photos.

Mad Mama & Flying Lessons

Mama Bluebird was not happy with me laying in the hammock. Her eggs were hatching very soon and I was way too close to her house.

Here is one of her babies on flying day. He was not allowed back in the box, despite his effort to do so.

This Flycatcher took the fur I had tossed in the yard just after brushing our cat to build her nest!

Baby Blue Jay

Blue Jay

This cute little Blue Jay decided that my friend Pat was going to be Mommy for a while. He followed her around the yard while she was watering her flowers pecking at her feet until she found some good things to eat. My husband and I took a turn at feeding.

African White Iris

Chickadee

I made a new birdhouse this year. Bluebirds and this Chickadee checked it out, but no one moved in.

Osprey

                  Not the most graceful landing!

Green Heron & Great Blue Heron

I am a pathological picture taker! It is fun for me to capture all the creatures in my backyard on camera. I have been moving all around the U.S. since the age of 7 and have enjoyed something about each of the places I called home. For 5 years now our family has been living in the Florida panhandle. I just can't help getting photos of the bugs, snakes, turtle, frogs, flowers, and birds I see in my backyard. I started this blog to share them, so enjoy!
